Resumo

In this work zinc oxide (ZnO) was synthesized from the mixture of zinc and stearic acid using the mechanochemistry technique. The zinc oxide was characterized by X-ray diffraction - (DRX), differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and thermal conductivity. The structural evolution of the sample as a function of milling time was observed by refining the diffractograms by Rietveld ´s method. The Williamson-hall´s method was used to obtain the sample microdeformation and size crystallite. The ZnO phase nucleation dynamic was studied and described using the Johnson-Mehl-Avrami´s method. The results revealed that it is possible to synthesize nanostructured zinc oxide with up to 180 minutes of milling.
