Resumo
Through the connection between this study objects, that are adolescence and institutional sheltering, the research proposal intended to comprehend the singular sense that female adolescents attached to the experience of living in a shelter, located in Manaus city, focusing in their daily life analyses, in the specific questions produced in their environment, as well as their common understanding about the adolescence process in the institutional setting. With the social-historical psychology theory support, it is suggested that adolescence, like the institutionalization processes, are a social-historical circumscribed phenomena, driving away the perspective of universal human development and embracing the importance of
institutional mechanisms that cross subjectivity constitution. The research was elaborated from the assumptions conducted by the dialogue between the social-historical focus in the experienced life and the qualitative methodology design proposed by the participant observation, with the intervention-research intermediation, whose main characteristic is the intention of provide a speaking and sense negotiation space. Therefore, in addition to the documental analyses and the field diaries, group meetings in workshop format, conducted
with 14 female adolescents, between 14 and 18 years old, accepted in the shelter, also were done as interventional instruments. A significant case study of the institutional sheltering process was still elaborated, using a semi-structured interview with one of the meeting
participants. In the data analysis the dialectic interpretation movement was considered, in
order to combine it with the chosen theoretical and methodological foundations. The results
show the adolescence process reflections motivated by the adolescents speeches themselves, where through the interventional workshop, the sense productions were collectively organized, expressing similarities and differences in the way they experience adolescence,
when it is compared with a more amplified social environment. About the institutional elements, the participants reveal to realize them, in general, with positivity and gratitude, comprehending their stay in the shelter as a decisive moment, in relation with their future
outside the entity, where the sexuality, family and work are presumed to assume the ideal place that has been assimilated. The case study showed a female sheltered young woman´s institutional path, since her arrival in the shelter until her expected way out of it, favoring the
comprehension of elements already visualized in the previous research stage. Trying to elucidate some of the many dimensions of the institutionalized adolescence, we hope to contribute for more adequate services and programs network organization that can provide
support to the adolescence demands, in such a unique moment of life autonomy development
