Resumo

The research falls on studies focusing the training of teachers. It analyzes how the process of training and practicing of PROINFANTIL influenced the teachers in the County of Manaquiri, Amazonas, aiming, for that matter, at answering the following questions: What is the profile of teachers, who work in kindergarten in the Amazonas, taking into account the data of the 2005-2012 Educational Census? What are the guidelines of PROINFANTIL and how they were implemented in Manaquiri, Amazonas? How has PROINFANTIL been reflected in training and practicing processes of teachers considered unprepared in the County of Manaquiri, Amazonas, from the teachers own perception? The location of the research was Manaquiri, Amazonas, a community about 54 km from Manaus. Five (5) graduate teachers from PROINFANTIL II participated in the survey, teachers who had worked in childhood education classes in the County and also in surrounding communities. The data were collected through field surveys, with semistructured interviews and documentary research, analyzing reports and other documents related to the program under scrutiny. The results obtained enable us to state that the Program Guidelines were designed to provide the participating teachers the knowledge considered relevant for the practice of teaching in early childhood education, but its operation did not occur smoothly. Several obstacles were encountered and affected the organization and development of the program. The survey on the teachers profile indicated that Amazonas tracks along the national data, with some nuances in relation to other states. As to the impact on the program, it rested evident that the expected impact of the program on the personal and professional lives of those teachers cannot be denied but it seems that the effect was more subjective.
