Resumo
The purpose of this study was to investigate how the constitution of Biology teachers can influence the use of Information and Communication Technologies (TICs) in teaching practice. According to the specialized literature, teacher training does not adequately contemplate the preparation of teachers for the use of TICs. To investigate this problem in the context of schools in Manaus, a research of predominantly qualitative nature was conducted out. The research instruments used were structured questionnaires and an open interview script. The results were analyzed using the Discursive Textual Analysis technique, in which the data were deconstructed and classified giving new understanding about the "corpus" of the interviews. Although advances in the integration of TIC are Biology Teaching, there are still many difficulties to be overcome in the field of educational technologies, TICs, which are a set of technological resources that, if they are integrated with one another, can provide the communication of several processes in the professional activities, including teaching and research. The results obtained in this study show that, in terms of teacher composition, the integration of TICs occurs in different ways in the teacher's action, and even though the teacher's constitution for the use of TIC depends not only on teachers' willingness to use these resources, but it is linked to interaction with their peers and with their trainers. Regarding teacher education, the study points to a deficiency in initial training, since less than half of the Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) of the city were in compliance with Ordinance no. 4059/2004, which obliges the offer of courses on technologies in undergraduate degrees. In continuing education, the study found that the teachers participating in the research recognize the continuing education programs offered by the federal government, however, they do not know the means of access to this form of training. In this way, it would be incumbent upon the MEC to periodically disclose these regulations. Investments in higher education, both public and private, should prioritize initial training, as their deficiency implies the teacher's unpreparedness in the face of technological innovations. As for the structure of schools, these also demand care, caused by the lack or excess of zeal on the part of the managers in the use of the TICs. In many Manaus schools the sign of internet is weak, the structure of the buildings is old and needs maintenance and adequacy for the use of technological equipment. More than modifying physical structures it is necessary to modify the thinking and acting of students, teachers and school management.
