Resumo

This research focused on the Santo Daime theme brings an approach to the production of delirium and reverie in the minds of Daime subjects who interact with this sacramental drink, in the ritual space of this ayahuasqueira practice. It seeks to find out how subjective and intersubjective interaction is established in the use of ayahuasca, referring to the perception of oneself in a poetics of delirium and daydream in contact with Santo Daime. It is an interdisciplinary study that establishes dialogues with Philosophy, Anthropology, History and Psychology. Fieldwork was carried out at Macurany in Parintins, a municipality in the State of Amazonas, where the Céu de Jesus Menino Church is located. We seek to conduct and analytically build the paths that lead to Daime, emphasizing the characterization of this religious moment and the psychoactive impressions that the drink produces. We investigated the effects of ayahuasca on the subjectivity of Daime subjects, highlighting delirium and poetic reverie and we identified the sacred place that Daime occupies in the lives of its adherents in an experience of poiesis and self-perception. The methodology was based on phenomenology and the rhizomatic perspective of knowledge production, focusing the analyzes on the different reports of Daimist subjects about their experiences of interaction with ayahuasca in the ritualistic context of Santo Daime. We carried out an ethnography with intensive observation. The research techniques included the in-depth interview, among other sources such as photographs, paintings and hymns that came to enrich our analysis. The results revealed that the use of this sacred drink changes the lives of Daime adherents, interfering with their subjectivity. Daimist subjects enter a process of becoming, creating other ways of relating to society. The production of delusions and poetic daydreams in the lives of these subjects is verified, which are built in autopoiesis, within a ritualistic strongly grounded in an eco-tragic aesthetic of the human condition in the Amazon. Finally, the research points to people who built themselves in Daime, seeking the perception of themselves in the interaction with ayahuasca and who suffered social prejudice for being adepts of Santo Daime.
