Modelagem Geológica do setor nordeste da Bacia do Vaupés-Amazonas: Integração de Sensoriamento Remoto e Geofísica

Resumo

The Colombian Amazon region has a geoscientific information gap. The Vaupés-Amazonas Sedimentary Basin is located in the Amazonas region, which is little geologically explored due to its dense vegetation cover, difficult location, and few exposed outcrops. Data collected contribute significantly to the knowledge of geometry, three dimensional settling of the rock layers in depth, and the linear features registered on the surface. The availability of surface and subsurface data and their integration make it possible to analyze geomorphological structures not yet described within this basin. Because of this, aiming at the use of subsurface data, such as seismic sections, well log, and aeromagnetic data, and surface data, such as radar images, available from this area, the proposal of this study was elaborated for the generation of a geological model in depth, with the identification of patterns of linear features on the surface. The geomorphological and tectono-stratigraphic evidence begins with the seismostratigraphic evaluation. At the same time, the lineaments' mapping and identifying their patterns from the Sentinel sensor radar and aeromagnetic data. Based on the interpreted data, we suggested that the occurrence of features associated with paleo canyons and valleys originated from the reactivation of preexisting brittle structures in the Precambrian basement. Rocks from the Precambrian to the recent evidence, as well as records of erosion and thinning, and sedimentation resulting from lateral accretion, influenced by processes of subsidence and isostasy. Such evidence can be related to the evolution of the Vaupés High to the formation of the Apaporis Graben due to Lower Paleozoic origins of faults reactivated from associated tectono-stratigraphic episodes.
