Impactos do cooperativismo sobre o desenvolvimento sustentável: o caso da cooperativa COOMPRAB (Rio Preto da Eva / Amazonas)

Abstract

Living in a region of vast complexity of relationships is not a simple task, the populations constantly seek to develop more efficient ways to face the structural difficulties of the region, in some places cooperativism appears as an organization tool in order to help the transformations in the use from the earth. In order to understand the social scenario of territorial appropriation, we point out the peoples of the Amazon, inserted in the middle of the largest tropical forest on the planet, these populations live daily with the dichotomy of living in a region with high levels of poverty even living in one of the richest regions of the world. parents. In this perspective, the objective of this study was to deepen the discussion on the use of cooperativism as a tool used for social organization in order to create more competitive conditions in search of sustainable development in a rural community in the municipality of Rio Preto da Eva / Am. The community was used as a controlled environment, where cooperative and non-cooperated families were interviewed under the same conditions. The results analyzed in the light of four dimensions of sustainability (economic, environmental, institutional and social), provided the identification of the influence of cooperativism in the sustainable development of the community, presenting the most significant points and discussing the role of this form of organization to face of the challenges and opportunities of the Amazon region.
