Resumo
It aims to contribute to the theoretical and practical acquisition of knowledge about intellectual property (IP) in the technical training of high school students at the Federal Institute of Amazonas (IFAM). It uses a qualitative approach and an exploratory-descriptive approach, based on a bibliographic and documental survey, constituting a case study to know the particularities of IFAM about the technical secondary level courses offered, contents covered and aspects of IP portrayed in the training process. Data were collected through an electronic questionnaire applied to the coordinators of these courses, whose contacts were informed by the Coordination of Professional Education, by signing a Term of Free and Informed Consent (TCLE). It examines the IP contents recommended by the scientific literature, by observing examples from other institutions, as well as those taught and/or suggested by the professors at IFAM, identified through the collection of information. It points out that the collected data were analyzed and, from them, an overview of the IP offer in the IFAM technical secondary level courses was obtained, the perception of the coordinators about the relevance of the offer and how an instructional material about PI could be structured to meet educational demands. It highlights that the scientific literature points out that the teaching of IP occurs at different levels of education, while in the national literature there are isolated cases, where IP is usually portrayed in higher education or open courses. It emphasizes that the institutional reality and the demands portrayed by the coordinators, documents such as the Institutional Development Plan, the General National Curriculum Guidelines for Professional and Technological Education and the Innovation Policy encourage the generation of innovation within the scope of IFAM, as a Federal Institute. It observes the need to train students on the topic, given that in the perception of most participating coordinators, the IP theme is poorly portrayed in the training process, signaling as extremely relevant content for the technical secondary level the importance of IP protection, information technology and knowledge, patent licensing, patent search, traditional knowledge, cultivar issues, trademark registration, patents, economics and IP. It has an IP instructional material, in guide format, to guide and support teaching, in order to promote institutional, regional and national development, in addition to offering new opportunities for students, teachers and researchers for training in IP from technical secondary education within the scope of IFAM.
