Representações sociais das mães sobre o abuso sexual intrafamiliar sofrido por seus filhos

Abstract

The overall goal of this dissertation was to seize the social representations of mothers about the domestic sexual abuse suffered by their children. The domestic sexual abuse against children was treated under a psychosociological approach, through theoretical Social Psychology, conducted by the theory of social representations, Moscovici, together with the contributions of Doise. The study comprised a technique of field research. The locus of study was at the center of Social assistance Specialized Reference (CREAS) in Manaus, Amazonas. Participated thirty-two women, aged 23 to 50, who responded to a semi-structured interview with closed questions about the sociodemographic data and other open questions that contemplated the objectives. The contents of the interviews were handled by Lexical Analysis from the software Alceste, through the standard procedure resulting in Descending hierarchical classification. The collected data were analyzed by descriptive statistics and inferential understanding (Chi-square). The results showed that mothers were socially against the abuse considering it as horrible, an act that happens only with the gentle and innocent children, or something that can be seen, made and played. Representing the factors of occurrence of sexual abuse facilitators anchored in that physical and psychological violence suffered by their companions, in addition to financial insecurity, unemployment, lack of social and psychological assistance. About the consequences of abusive acts their speeches in physical side effects suffered by their children with torn hymen, diarrhea, vomiting and genital dilaceration. Concerning the damages they suffered the focus was on: interpersonal with negative feelings of hatred, disgust, anger, guilt, pain, sadness, nightmares, betrayal, vengeance, negative self-image, sorrows, rancor and the feeling of powerlessness; with interpersonal avoidance in new affective involvement due to fear of exposing their children to another perpetrator of violence; financial hardship due to unemployment and the lack of help from former when this was the perpetrator; disbelief in the Justice of men in antinomy belief in divine law of God. It was still suggest the proposition of future research.
