Partir, chegar, retornar: o trânsito migratório feminino de Terra Santa a Manaus (1970-2018)

Resumo

The present work deals with the investigation of an internal migration process in the Amazon, focusing especially on the one that occurs between the two largest states in the Amazon region, Pará and Amazonas, bringing in the core of its discussion the theme of migration, differently from what we are used to. listening or studying, we will bring here the experiences of migration from the point of view of women from Pará who embarked on their migratory processes towards the Amazon. In other words, we approach the specificity of female migration, and when analyzing migratory flows from this perspective, migration ceases to be just a rational choice of individuals alone and starts to emerge in networks of social relationships, as a strategy of family groups or of people from the same community. Some women experience greater autonomy and empowerment through this process, when they migrate alone to escape limitations and the few opportunities for their full development, considering that for female mobility, this is a form of emancipation for women in their communities of origin, and what is behind female migrations has to do with the life cycle, strategies and, mainly, the formation of these women's networks. The strength and representation with which women have been appearing in figures and discussions on migration in the globalized world has led many specialists to talk about the “feminization of migratory flows” or population displacements. In this way, we assume the purpose of understanding the migratory process from Terra Santa to Manaus through the experiences and trajectories of migrant women, seeking to identify the historical trajectories of our collaborators and their social relations in the new spaces, as well as contextualizing the trajectories and experiences of them from the displacement processes that occur in the contemporary Amazon, that is, at the end of the 20th century and the beginning of the 21st.
