Resumo
The purpose of this research was to carry out a systematic study, as well as in the
led, through a critical analysis, to reflect on policy implementations
from the perspective of socioeconomic and environmental development, in a
Amazon community of a rural settlement project, as well as to verify the
interactions between the peasant community and the environment. The research took place at Project
Francisco Settlement Center, located in Canutama, southern Amazonas state, in the
area of the deforestation arc, and because it is considered an agricultural frontier, is under pressure from
the advancement of agriculture in the region. The research was conducted through interviews aimed at
60 families of settled peasants, as well as documentary analysis. After the data
collected, they were tabulated and analyzed from the perspective of historical materialism
dialectical. Thus, the lack of basic public policies that favor the
rural socioeconomic aspect and not just the agricultural aspect of these Amazonian peasants,
as well as the need for greater interaction between public and peasant institutions
