Resumo

The object of this research was the Nhamundá State Park, first Conservation Unit UC created in the state of Amazonas on July 6, 1989 through the State Decree n. 2175, with an area about 28,370 hectares. In this time-frame, the legislation pertinent to the creation process had not been solidified yet, however, was legitimate according to paragraph 3 of article 225 of the Federal Constitution and specific laws. A technical study on the unit s proposed area was not done and the protected area s Organization Manager was only present to implement and inform the community members about the park s existence and promote the forwarding of founding issues at the end of 2005. By the legislation shouldn t have a live-in population over the Park s area, nevertheless, there are 687 families living there, many of them have already been living there since the unit s creation. Because of this long warming-up process and non-existence of effective Park management and the current horizon employed for this problem s solution, it has been necessary to notice if the Environmental Information, in the Nhamundá State Park Management process was welcomed and absorbed by the community members, aiming the technical subsidy to the formulation of effective transmission mechanisms and language formatting, as well as making them able to make decisions in participative management of this protected area. The method adopted was "Case Study" to perform the literature search and field and application of 68 questionnaires sent to community residents in the affected area by the Park. It s was noticed that the community members like living in the location where they reside because it s pleasurable, bringing security, wellbeing, besides being able to support their families with what they produce from the soil and products extracted from nature like fish. Notice that the Park community members know about the environmental issues transmitted through communication in their daily practices. A preponderant factor is the oral transmission of the facts that occur daily. Note that they receive this information and absorb it because there are changes in the attitudes in relation to the environment, however, there s a need for strengthening in the process and alternatives in fine-tuning knowledge of these social roles. It can be concluded that for an effective Park management process to actually occur, interaction and the development of an ample environmental information dissemination process are necessary, with detailing the pertinent information of the creation process and conservation unit management, which promote the feeling of belonging to the place and the strengthening of social and environmental relations as a symbol of opportunity for improving the life conditions of the users, which will make sustainable activity development possible, those like ecotourism, local user contracting to work in the Park, among others, complementing the qualification of these human resources.
