Autoconceito em adolescentes com provável Transtorno do Desenvolvimento da Coordenação

Resumo

The damage caused by Coordination Development Disorder (BDD) affects the activities of daily living (ADL) and activities of school life (CVA) of children and adolescents. This scenario in the Amazon context seeks, through inclusive education, to meet the uniqueness of human diversity, when it assures students the right to educational actions that allow their learning process, respecting their potential and needs. The aim of our study was to understand the self-concept of adolescents with probable Coordination Development Disorder (pTDC). 32 adolescents previously identified with pTDC participated in this study, being 17 girls and 15 boys, between 11 and 14 years of age, coming from four (4) elementary schools II of the basic education of the state education network in the city of Manaus / AM. Data were collected using the Child and Youth Self-Concept Scale (EAC-IJ). The results showed that in the personal and social contexts 50% of the adolescents presented self-concept with negative levels. In the school context, 41% of adolescents showed negative self-concept, while 49% showed satisfactory and positive self-concept. In the family context, 28% of the adolescents showed negative self-concept, while 72% had a positive and satisfactory self-concept. As for the general self-concept, we had 34% of adolescents with negative self-concept, while 66% had a satisfactory and positive self-concept. We conclude that the majority of adolescents with pTDC presented one or two isolated levels with a negative and satisfactory concept in the personal, social, school and family contexts. The pTDC condition did not seem to us to be decisive for the emergence of the negative self-concept level, since we also had the presence of higher levels in the self-concept. And considering the reality in the Amazon context, we suggest the monitoring of these adolescents, by the school and family, in order to contribute to the development of these students.
