Resumo
The purpose of this research was to study the fracture pattern on the banks of the Black River on the edge of Ponta Negra Beach and the region of Tarumã, in the city of Manaus-AM and the region of Iranduba-AM. The initial stage of the study involved a review of the neotectonics of the region and the survey of existing geological and geomorphological data in order to update the knowledge and determine the specific areas of needs, described in the field. The second stage of the research involved the analysis in remote sensing of high spatial resolution. The field research included the geological and geomorphological survey, mapping the layers and their facies analysis, identification and record of faults and fractures present in the deformed layers, and occurred in two phases, the first in January 2014 and the second one in March 2015, involving the right and the left bank of the river. The methods developed in this research involved: satellite imagery analysis Landsat 5 TM 2005, with the help of software Arcgis 10.2 Arc Map, the use of SRTM models (Shutter Radar Topographic Mission), analysis of photographic images collected in the field and preparation of stereograms with structural data of fractures. The structural data collected in the field on two separate occasions, with the help of geological compass, were analyzed according to conventional methods of structural analysis, according to techniques Arthaud (1969) and Angelier and Mechler (1977), for the treatment of fault populations and fractures, for the purpose of determining the principal tensor deformation. Regarding the pattern of fracturing of the area of Arenito Manaus, overall, the fractures or joints are presented systematically, especially open, they are continuous and run parallel to the shore of the Negro River. In a comparison with data collected on the right bank of the river, in the Iranduba region, it was found that that on both sides fracture structures are pretty similar, with rectilinear structures. There might be a strong influence of the fault that controls the Black River on the fracture pattern of the Black River on the edge of the city of Manaus-AM.
