Entre idas e vindas: arranjos familiares e circulação de crianças no Amazonas

Resumo

This thesis makes an anthropological investigation about family arrangements and circulation of children in Amazonas. From the description and analysis of daily scenes and family trajectories, an attempt was made to draw a panorama of an own family type, with the circulation of children as the main focus of this analysis. Thus, through the case study of three families in/from the city of Manaus, with strong connections to its origins in the state's inland, a specific family arrangement is defined. Family is understood here from the perspective of local contextual particularity and the plural and dynamic character that this category has, reaffirming the concept of children's circulation as central in the organization, composition, strengthening of relationships, and "creation" of kinship. Thereby, this work presents, between comings and goings, a particular way of "being" a family, which gives children a place that defines family arrangements, making a direct counterpoint to how the State, through the child and teenagers’ protection network, manages policies and programs to assist families with their particularities and local diversity
