Periódicos do Serviço Social brasileiro: o que há por trás do silenciamento sobre a temática da pessoa com deficiência?

Abstract

This study had the general objective of Analyzing the scientific productions of the last ten years (2011-2021), in journals in the area of Social Services, about the disabled in the ambit of public policies in the Brazilian reality. Its specific objetives were: 1) To verify the quantitative of scientific productions in journals in the Social Service area that portray the PCD; 2) To characterize the content of scientific productions and their relationship with the directives of the Professional Ethical-Political project; 3) To ponder about the visibility of the theme in the Brazilian Social Service and its repercussions in public policies. The method used was dialectical historical materialism, with mixed focus and use of qualitative data. Its realization involved bibliographic and documentary research. The data collection took place through the survey of scientific productions linked to the journals in the area of knowledge in Social Work whose evaluation in Qualis-Periodicals were A1 and A2 and whose scope was related to the Person with Disabilities. Through research, 34 productions were identified that discussed the theme and correlated with public and social policies in their multiple dimensions. Furthermore, the types of research and analysis methods employed were verified in the productions, with emphasis on the critical perspective. Other perspectives of analysis were also found, and one of the explanations for this data refers to a variety of authors who are not Social Workers, which signals that the production of knowledge about the person with disabilities is not only linked to the Social Service. In addition, a discussion was held on the Ethical-Political Project and its interlocution with the theme of the person with disabilities. Therefore, it is hoped that this research will stimulate new studies that seek to unveil the reality of PCD.
