Cooperação internacional em educação: o programa brasileiro de qualificação docente e ensino de língua portuguesa em Timor-Leste

Abstract

The proposed study for this research is based on the evaluation of the agreement on international cooperation in education between the governments of Brazil and East Timor, which had an initial duration of five years, between the years 2005 and 2010. This agreement is named after the Brazilian Program Eligibility Faculty and Teaching of Portuguese in East Timor, and was administered during this period by the Foundation for the Coordination of improve-ning of Higher Education Personnel (CAPES), through its Directorate of International Relations , which selected 50 teachers annually on average. This research aims to provide scientific support to promote the development of a program best suited to economic and social needs of East Timor. This is a qualitative research. Subjects will be ten (10) and refer to a theoretical sampling of some participants, not its entirety. It is therefore an intentional sample, ie, a teacher will be chosen for each area of the Brazilian cooperation in East Timor: Portuguese, mathematics, biology, chemistry and physics. Added to this the participation of coordinators, as well as a member of the legal cooperation Brazilian who worked directly with Brazilian teachers and finally, a teacher who has participated in all years of the mission (2005-2010), which are the inclusion and exclusion criteria of subjects in the study. At the end of the study, the material is systematic walking on possible solutions to technical problems faced by the Brazilian program, and will relate positive ideas used in training courses for teachers Timorese likely to be adopted in Brazilian schools.
