Variação lexical no Alto Solimões : um estudo linguístico - etnográfico no município de Benjamin Constant - Amazonas

Abstract

This study addresses the semantic-lexical variation in the municipality of Benjamin Constant, which is located in the Alto Solimões Region, belonging to the State of Amazonas. This is a dialectological research, involving two dimensions: diatopic (Centro and Javarizinho neighborhoods) and diasexual (man and woman). The general objective of the research was to carry out a linguistic survey, at the lexical level. To achieve this, the following specific objectives were proposed: identify the variants of each lexical variable; describe the region's usage norm based on the high frequency and regular distribution of variants; and analyze the research results in the two diatopic dimensions. The constitution of the corpus was possible through the application of the Semantic-Lexical Questionnaire, containing 140 questions taken from Azevedo's thesis (2013). 12 informants were interviewed, 6 in each selected neighborhood. With this, the local usage norm was established, and the diatopic factor was the most productive.
