Resumo

The study aimed to analyze female sex work from the perspective of the generation of professionals who began their practice in the 70s and 80s, where most of them remain in the sex trade, with more than 30 years of profession. Thus, the study intends to consider the perception of permanences and ruptures in the universe of sexual commerce through the professionals' perspective, as well as their memories, sociability and resistance. We worked with oral sources and some newspapers of the time that supported us so that we could understand a little of the researched universe and the subjects that make up a world permeated with stereotypes. Our intention was not to give voice to these women, because they are perfectly capable of giving meaning to their trajectories, but to enable their speech to show us a little of this stigmatized universe, with the purpose of breaking prejudices, especially regarding women. who come from the popular classes and sex workers. Our goal was also to understand the real demands of the category and how they organize themselves to answer these questions that influence their daily practice, from access to public policies, the struggle for regulation of the profession and breaks with cycles of violence. in their multiple expressions on them and women in general.
