Resumo
The difficulties encountered in solving mathematical problems, especially in the field of algebra, can make students consider mathematics and related sciences a difficult task to understand. Understanding the field of mathematics and related sciences are important for the development of cognitive skills. In this context, this dissertation was developed a Tutoring System called LEIA, which aims to promote learning, identifying difficulties in students and assisting in the construction of mathematical thinking. Thus, a Mentoring System was designed consisting of Interface, Student Model, Mentoring Strategies and Domain Model. In addition, a Pedagogical Virtual Assistant has been included to assist and motivate students in the learning process. The tutoring strategies that make up the LEIA were defined from models found in the literature. To approximate the interactions of the tutor system with the teachers' actions, the Lev Vygotsky Proximal Development Zone Concept was used. The methodology used in this project was composed of case studies, applied in a classroom. With the results, it was evident the acceptance of the proposal by the students and teachers, as well as the perception of learning gain from the use of the tutoring system.
