Resumo

This research aims to value the experience of men and women, rural workers, residents of Santíssima Trindade, São José and Nossa Senhora do Perpetuo Socorro do Laguinho Communities, that passed by a territorial reordering, first with the displacement of flooded areas in the decadeof the 70’s, and later by the rural Settlement of Vila Amazônia implementation in the late decade of the 80’s.It has beenreached by social memory, residents’oral narratives, analyze the historical process of communities formation, and appreciation of men and women’s routinesfrom that locality.It has beenrequested to understand the workers relations with the land and the social organization and work forms, as these subjects historicize their experiences and life trajectories in the struggle for land.It also intends to realize the subjects’ expectations in relation to a setof public policies implementation for Land Reform concerning the studied region.The Oral History provides theoretical and methodological subsidies to support this study.The lands that compound the rural communities of Vila Amazônia Region are located on the border between the States of Amazonas and Pará with 300,000 hectares territory. Since 1988, the current Republic President in this period, José Sarney has been expropriated 78,270 hectares for the establishment of a PA (settlement project),at this time it has been known as rural settlement of Gleba de Vila Amazônia. The Laguinho region communities were hit directly by the Land Reform process, because this region was one of the first community centers which has been formed. Laguinho Community is located in the central region of rural settlement of Vila Amazônia, and it is inhabited by approximately 20 farmer families.
