Resumo

The reasons why high school students manifest difficulties in learning basic physics concepts are varied. The lack of physical laboratories and experimental practices have contributed to the worsening of the situation. This is one of the reasons that encourages educational institutions to invest in research to find solutions that meet this need and Remote Access Laboratories are a considerable alternative. The system designed, Remote Access Physics Laboratory, called LARF, was developed and evaluated in order to enable the process of Mediation in teaching and learning physics in remote experiments. The tool uses the Moodle Learning Management System, where the experimentation that makes up the remote laboratory is inserted, as well as all the didactic instruments. In this system, teacher and student talk through a chat, where the student receives guidance, explanations and can answer questions about the subjects of Physics studied. The approach is based on Vygotsky's concepts of Mediation and Proximal Development Zone. The applied research methodology made it possible to carry out evaluations, through a basic qualitative study in an educational environment, and the results achieved demonstrated that the methodological proposal is efficient. In addition, teachers and students expressed an interest in using the approach, not only in other sub-areas of Physics but also in other areas, as they believe that the methodology helps to understand elementary concepts of Physics.
