Resumo

The present work presents an experience of using theories on didactics in mathematics teaching. The parabola concept, taught in the third year of high school, within the content of analytical geometry, was based on a teaching sequence. For the conception of the activity we look for the concepts of didactic situations and didactic contract, coming from French’s didactics of mathematics, in which they make up the theoretical framework of didactic engineering in order to base the elaboration of the teaching sequence. As a research methodology, we use the precepts indicated by didactic engineering in both the design of the teaching sequence and the application of the activity in the classroom. We made an exposition of the application of previous analyzes; a priori analysis and conception; a posteriori analysis and validation in the scope of our work with the objective of showing how the teaching sequence was elaborated following the steps dictated by the chosen methodology. We chose to develop a teaching sequence for the teaching of the parabola concept based on the use of the Geogebra program as an auxiliary tool to the teaching / learning process. We applied the sequence of teaching with a group of third year of high school who had not yet studied the subject and found that its use in the classroom proved to be satisfactory when performing the analysis a priori and validation of the experience.
