The varzea ecossystem in the Amazon has a great potential to fishing, livestock and agriculture. This fact ows to the soil fertility, the diversity of the environment and species, resulted of flooding dinamic and the land disponibility. With the existence of all this advantages and favorable conditions, for more than 1000 years the varzea environments were used to the maintenance of riparian populations without many impacts over the environment. This activities developed in the varzea area started to be used not only for the riparian subsistence, but also as an economical and social activity, and to maintain biodiversity. This study objected to characterize and to verify the strategies and cultivation techniques, handling and conservation in the ecotypes: agroforestryl yards and roça worked by the familiar agriculturists of Nossa Senhora de Nazaré community in /Manacapuru-AM. To achieve the goals of this research, it was choosen the Case Study method. The results allowed us to verify that the agricultural activities are deeply related with the natural resources use. When the production systems are handled by the agriculturists, they use mainly the familiar workmanship, whose work organization forms (in the productive units) are standed out the day changing, multirão and ajuri. The description of the productive spaces by mental maps shows that the combination of agricultural cultures and trees of multiple uses are constructed, organized, combined and valued according to the basic needs of the area residents. While the transmission of etnoknowledge about the agricultural thecniques ocurrs orally, and the main way that this etnoknowledge is perpetuated is through the youngers with olders relationship. For this, the agricultural activities in the subsystems of agroflorestryl yard production and roça have not only an economic importance, but also social, for they possibilitate the social relations among local family members and others near communities.
