Resumo
The paper presented aims to analyze parameters of undrained mechanical resistance (Su) in soft clay alluvial soils in the city of Rio Preto da Eva - AM, with emphasis on four specific tests, the Vane Shear Test, Standard Penetration Test (SPT), simple compressive strength and direct shear strength. The purpose of this paper is to determine the differences found in these four described methods and whether the vane test device produced meets the needs. In order to obtain such results, tests were performed in the aforementioned municipality, collection of undisturbed samples for laboratory analysis and production of low cost equipment to perform a reed test. The low cost equipment was designed to perform the type A test as described in NBR 10905/89 to avoid excessive dents in the soil studied. The characterization of the samples included the usual physical and chemical analysis through x-ray diffraction and ray fluorescence spectroscopy. By the end of the research it was possible to determine 2 m deep layers of soft to very soft clay on the river banks, and the values of cohesion and friction angle obtained in the tests were all within the standards described in the literature and by In the end the idealized equipment worked as expected and provided reliable results.
