A expansão do ensino superior privado, no Amazonas, no período de Fernando Henrique Cardoso (1995-2002)

Abstract

This research analyzed the educational politics of superior education in the period of government of Fernando Enrique Cardoso (1995 the 2002) and its consequences in Amazonas. The research has allowed us to know that the expansion of superior education in Amazonas, despite delays, followed the exponential growth of Private Superior Educational establishments, verified in our country, which makes us point the following conclusions: the absence of the tripod - education, research and extension - essential in the critical formation of a citizen; of the institution of superior education and its objective to form the citizen for the financial market and in the attainment of the education in a business, income-producing. Following, therefore, the logic configured for the economy, based on the neoliberalism - main mark of the capitalism of century XXI. The used methodology was the description-critical one, searching to understand the historical process of the expansion of Superior Education in Brazil and Amazonas, being used the technique of the analysis documentary/analysis of content for referring understanding of documents to the educational politics of the country in the analyzed period.
