Resumo
This paper presents an alternative to adding value and efficiency gains on the deliveries of projects in an Information Technology (IT) team of a retail company, through the adoption and use of Production Engineering tools and insertion of Lean Thinking culture as mechanism of concepts changing and innovation. It aims to demonstrate that is possible combine and extract value by using manufacturing industry techniques in another area such as the production of Information Systems and computer applications, expanding the options of management practices and serving as an additional alternative in the administrative processes areas. To reach this goal, the bibliographic research was adopted, as well as study case. The study was done in a retail company that has a local IT team having 40 people delivering projects previously managed through traditional IT management tools. The job has developed by applying courses to introduce and consolidate the culture and practices adopted on the manufacturing industry, using it to produce a mechanism of mental transformation and add new concepts of management and operations. It was adopted the VSM (Value Stream Mapping) tool to mapping the processes, identification of bottlenecks based on the theory of constraints and wasting time reduction, in order to bring the cadence of projects deliveries by adopting production systems methods. This job has concluded that is possible improve efficiency gains on the Information Technology development projects by using Production Engineering tools.
