Resumo
This study assumes the purpose of verifying how the city of Manaus was built, emphasizing the counter-hegemonic practices of women in the housing movement. Focusing on the socio-cultural processes of the Amazon, this research is woven with the threads of interdisciplinarity, under a rhizomatic inspiration, anchored in the theme of gender and establishing dialogues with Social Anthropology, history, Human Geography and Sociology. The fieldwork focused on a sample of housing movements organized in the city of Manaus, a territory where women establish their daily lives and experiences, whether individual or collective. In this process the city is presented beyond the concreteness and vicissitudes of the architectural and urban space, it is perceived as a result of the relationships that are established between habitants and with the affective aspects that make these people maintain a bond with the place. The methodology, anchored in a dialogical perspective of knowledge, assumed the orientations of qualitative approaches, in a dialogical construction between empiricism and theories. The technical-operative procedures focused on the in-depth interview with the resources of images, poems and songs. Among the multiple results was the fact that amazônidas women inposed their presence on the city from scape routs, in a visibly transgressive position. It also shows that they are the great weavers of Manaus' symbolic architecture. Finally, it should be recognized that women, while fighting for the right to housing/city in their collectives, are in a constant poiesis, forging themselves as social constructs.
