Uma pesquisa sobre os fatores de influência no processo de estimativa de esforço em projetos web

Abstract

The Web development industry is constantly growing and companies that develop such projects are facing the challenge of estimating the necessary effort for development in a period of time that can be very short. This is a very complex challenge because there are several factors that can influence the estimation process. Without an adequate model, the estimation of Web projects can be performed with a high degree of uncertainty. Moreover, effort estimation methods that are applied in traditional software development are not precise enough for the development of Web applications. This master thesis investigates the influencing factors during the effort estimation of new Web projects. This investigation is based on a qualitative research with interviews and practitioners who have actively participated in the effort estimation process of Web projects, in which we verified the interrelationships between these factors and categorizing them. We also present an extension and detailed analysis over a systematic literature review, in which we verified, described and compared the identified factors with those from the qualitative study. The integration of both studies allowed us to identify a total of 90 influencing factors in effort estimation of Web projects. Such list can be employed by companies and project managers in the improvement of decision making when performing effort estimations.
