O processo de legitimação das funções de liderança feminina no interior das igrejas neopentecostais em Manaus

Abstract

The Dissertation in question aims to analyze the current configuration of the process of legitimation of the lead female roles, as well as the impacts of such phenomenon inside of the neopentecostal churches in Manaus. Study the topic mentioned in the problem justifies itself as points to its relevance and contributions in the development of adjacent studies about Brazilian religious phenomena, power and gender relations that are part of the everyday life of society, and the characteristics of social interaction in the religious field. In the face of numerous possibilities for conceptual and theoretical fundaments and the necessary synthesis that this document chose to address, albeit in an incipient way the following themes: a conceptual and historical glimpse about the neopentecostal churches, gender issues, and the patterns of women participation in the neopentecostal movement, which are expressions that arranged this study. This division guides the research on the investigation around the imaginary about the place of women in the neopentecostal church, the struggles, resistances, internal conflicts linked to the construction of gender, as well as the understanding of power and ways to structure it and exercise it within the neopentecostal churches. The neopentecostal movement, which has expanded, improved, adapted to social contexts, and established itself as a social phenomenon involving a large number of individuals with their modern theological discourses. This religious consolidation has been effected on a period of paradigmatic changes of social relations, which enables researchers to a field of sociological study for investigation of the phenomena arising from the expansion of neopentecostal churches in the Brazilian scenario. The data collected in field research are interpreted, analyzed and discussed in the light of the theoretical framework to understand how this process of legitimation of female leadership positions in neopentecostal churches took place and the background of this new space granted to women.
