Elos X Nós: encontros e desencontros entre poder público e movimentos de mulheres em Parintins/AM

Abstract

Women's movements have, over the past decades, sought to relate to the state in order to expand their struggles and include their agenda in the public agenda. This process of intervention of women's movements in the spaces of participation prompted us to discuss how this relationship is processed in the city of Parintins/AM, starting from the following question: How do women's movements dialogue with the municipal legislative power and what are the strategies? And challenges they use to interact in this space? From this, this research aimed to analyze the process of interaction between women's movements and the legislative power in the municipality of Parintins/AM, in the management of 2013-2016. To this end, the methodology consisted of a qualitative approach through bibliographic, documentary and field research. The latter, held in the municipality of Parintins, state of Amazonas, with the application of semi-structured interviews with the leaders of five women's movements: Associação de Mulheres Vitória Régia de Parintins (AMVRP), Central das Marias de, Parintins, Associação do Movimento de Mulheres da Amazônia (MANI), Articulação Parintins Cidadã (APC) and Associação Parintinense de Defesa da Mulher, da Infância e Juventude (ASPINMU); as well as four parliamentarians of the Parintins City Council (CMP). The results show that women's movements find it difficult to establish dialogues with the municipal legislature and, consequently, fail to insert so successfully in the state agenda agendas related to women's demands. The legislative power, in turn, has given little relevance to the performance of women's movements, nor does it register proposals for projects, policies and/or actions related to the agendas presented by the movements. Thus, there is the establishment of a field of conflict that separates civil society and the public power, since the interests go in plural directions which characterizes the links and knots of this relationship.
