Resumo
Urena lobata is grown only to obtain fiber, and as seeds are derived from the extractive process. This scenario tends to change, for this issue is relevant for the socioeconomic situation, especially for the State of Amazonas. The objective of this research was to investigate the occurrence of endophytic fungi in U. lobata, evaluating an influence of the plant organ and culture site, since the endophyte-host interaction may be beneficial or may become harmful to the plant. The frequency and degree of colonization, diversity indexes of Shannon-Weaver, Simpson, and Pielou uniform were calculated and the dominance component curve was performed. The genera found were: Phomopsis, Colletotrichum, Fusarium, Pestalotiopsis, Curvularia and Cochliobolus. Greater diversity and fungal richness was found in Manaus with high colonization present in the leaves. Preference was given to the following genera: Curvularia and Fusarium seed and Colletotrichum leaf. A similarity between the main cropping systems and the results of a mutualistic or balanced antagonistic interaction.
