Prostituição de mulheres em áreas de bar da Orla da Francesa - Parintins-AM (2000-2018)

Abstract

This dissertation has aims to understand women prostitution in the bar area of the Orla da Francesa, from study about, social, cultural and economic historical questions, of the Parintins municipality, taking into account life history women in situations prostitution. The Orla da Francesa is a place sociability and memory for neighborhood residents and especially for who live in the outskirts area, it is a space memory for wakening certain times memories of Parintins municipality, in particular period in which was one of the main laser spots and entertainment. Within this space men and women live together, so that, each one performs his task according to their needs or conveniences, which makes it a space of multiple experiences and experiences human make, amongst these subjects are prostitutes. For construction this dissertation, resorted bibliographical research, newspaper archives, Oral History and field research. Having a qualitative approach and ethnographic procedure. The subjects were 03 prostitutes who exercing this activity in the bars of Orla da Francesa, 02 neighborhood residents, 01 bar’s owner 01 Social Assistant listed according with criteria to previously defined. For data collection used a semi-structured interview, participant observation and field diary with a purpose to identify causes / reasons made use to prostitution and what impacts this activity has caused in the lives these women. The study revealed that are women from poorest stratum of society, and because financial need were for prostitutes and bars in the city to prostitute themselves. It has common life histories, abandonment, sexual abuse, and childhood violence in the family and adulthood by husbands. We also note that they are strongly estigmatized women, an instrument social power in the symbolic sphere excludes from other public spheres, bar being place where they find the necessary "defense". They are women who nurture hope of marrying and constitute a family, love and seek to be loved, and use their sexiness according with their convenience, showing prostitution is characterized by a power relationship. Checked that these women are also chemical dependents and alcoholism suffer, placing in a situation of vulnerability greater to acquiring physical or mental health problems. It is pointed that prostitution is a risky activity for these women due to lack of necessary care health’s body and suffering constant physical violence by clients or other prostitutes. As a social contribution, it is suggested that competent institutions, Health’s Secretariats and Social Assistance, through municipality City Hall, search for to situation social vulnerability these women find themselves, seeking public policies can offer them better health conditions and human dignity.
