Agricultura Familiar e sustentabilidade ambiental na comunidade rural de Novo Remanso (Amazonas, Brasil)

Abstract

The emergence of new agricultural archetypes in environmental issues reveals the search for sustainable agriculture that seeks to insert this new paradigm and demonstrates that agroecology is a possible path, as it provides a methodological framework to understand the principles behind a deeper understanding of nature. . In this context, the core of this research was to analyze family farming and the (re) production of agroecosystems in the community of Novo Remanso. In order to reach and understand the listed objectives, chapter 1 addresses agricultural issues and their development, as well as productive activities used to generate income that are developed by farmers, in addition to elucidating the configurations of farmers with the market economy. Chapter 2 brings a narrative in the quest to understand knowledge and knowledge, in addition to the conservation strategies practiced by farmers in the area under study. Chapter 3 highlights the fabric of territorial management in the community. Different methodological mechanisms were used, such as bibliographical, documental and field survey, in addition, methodological tools were applied such as forms, Agricultural Calendar, Migration Map, Venn Diagram and the F.O.F.A Matrix. Research data show that traditional family farming was developed mainly for survival and is permeated by values and characteristics such as cooperation, solidarity, family and kinship, concern for well-being, which are part of the fundamental family group for social sustainability, these are all interconnected and represent the sociocultural sustainability of the community. Therefore, this cut becomes necessary, as it points out obstacles, weaknesses, difficulties and, above all, the resilience of families that seek survival, which even with various social, economic and environmental problems, manage to endure and continue in the midst of a multifaceted reality.
