Resumo
The following work addresses the study of socio-spatiality developed within the scope of the
Brazilian Adolpho Lisboa market linked to circulation, consumption and aesthetics produced
by the sale of handicrafts. Specifically, the subjects were studied, a saber, 1. Consider socio spatiality, within the Market as an emblematic place in the city, which makes it possible to
establish social and commercial relations, from the sale of handicrafts and other products; 2.
Map and classify the aesthetics of articles within the domestic market based on their
importance for customer consumption: handicrafts, clothing of various types, production of
artistic objects, among others; 3. Establish the different social types that interact in the
Market; and 4. Bring a discussion on symbolic relationships, generated from the preferences
of consumption, organization and circulation of handcrafted objects. With this research, it can
be seen that the Adolfo Lisboa Municipal Market has great significance in the cultural
imaginary of the city due to the representativeness and history of the place linked to the first
“rubber cycle” in the Amazon region.
