Metodologia de identificação de bens intelectuais do Povo Tremembé da Barra do Mundaú

Abstract

This study proposes a social technology, in the form of a mapping guide, which enables the Tremembé people of Barra do Mundaú to identify their intellectual assets. The protection of intellectual property of traditional peoples is discussed as a topic addressed at a global level, as the relevant contribution of these groups to culture, biodiversity management and innovations is recognized. It highlights the importance of protecting these goods created from the knowledge and experience of these peoples, translating into a possible way to avoid the extinction of their cultural identities, preserve their relationship with biodiversity and protect knowledge, skills and innovations created and passed on by generations. This is a qualitative research, in the form of a case study, with bibliographic, documentary and field data collection, where a survey and analysis of existing mapping models were carried out, which supported the creation of the Guide and the (remote) interview which contributed to its validation, with the Nucleus of Afro-Brazilian and Indigenous Studies (NEABI) of the Federal Institute of Ceará (IFCE). The results obtained bring elements that demonstrate that the mapping models analyzed do not offer unrestricted autonomy to the community, always depending on third parties to be carried out within the territory. It can also be seen that the product of this research is suitable for the participating community, as well as being moldable to be used by other peoples, as it should be a social technology that tries to mitigate real problems.
