Análise da acessibilidade urbana em Manaus/AM: um olhar sobre a criação de espaços acessíveis para a pessoa com deficiência

Abstract

This research aims to address the issue of urban accessibility to problematize it in order to analyze the underlying psychosocial aspects in the process of creating spaces accessible to people with disabilities in the urban context. It is understood that the city as a social product should be conceived as a collective space made by all and for all. In this sense, this qualitative study was a descriptive, exploratory approach Multimétodos or triangulation methods proposed to meet the urban space of Manaus through the technique of Systematic Observation, by building an array of note, and the composition diary of a field allied to the photographic record of urban furniture capital of five points, namely roads, neighborhoods, boundaries, nodal points and landmarks, looking for spaces of movement in their places accessible representative. Then there was a semi-structured interview with 50 (M = 27, F = 23) finalists university courses in Architecture and Urban Planning, Civil Engineering and Building Construction Technology at three higher education institutions, analyzing how is understood the issue of urban accessibility in terms of importance and necessity in view of future professionals that have, by assumption of office, the task of designing and constructing new spaces. The results allowed a thorough critical reflection about the accessibility of urban Manaus. It was found that in the city of Manaus, there are no spaces for movement whose accessibility is an inherent characteristic and sustainable only isolated points where timely interventions seem to guarantee free access for people with disabilities through some respect to technical standards of design and building spaces. Similarly, it was found that the views of the university dealt with the neglect with which the urban area of Manaus is up. It was also observed that they understand the guarantee of free access as a condition not only specific to people with disabilities and / or mobility restrictions, but an achievement of broad coverage for all citizens. We conclude, therefore, that it is urgent and necessary to revise the concrete spaces of movement in the city of Manaus to the rescue of accessibility as an instrument of citizenship through equality of the right to come and go for all citizens, handicapped or not . Accessibility enables the production of behaviors and social relationships unified for all citizens so egalitarian, allowing the establishment of a concrete relationship between adaptive human / environment as well as promoting health and better quality of life for individuals in the social context, without discrimination.
