Câncer de pele no Brasil e Regiões de 2017 a 2023: uma análise temporal

Resumo

Skin cancer, characterized by high incidence, morbidity, and mortality worldwide, stands out as the most prevalent cancer in Brazil, driven by factors such as the country's tropical location and a lack of knowledge about effective prevention among the population. This study aims to assess the incidence of skin cancer in Brazil and by regions from 2017 to 2023, focusing on age 4 groups, genders, and types of skin cancer. Using a descriptive and ecological approach, data from the Department of Informatics of the Unified Health System (DATASUS) on skin cancer incidence were analyzed with Excel software. The study identified 3,400,187 skin cancer diagnoses during the period, predominantly of the non-melanoma type. The incidence was higher among women, especially in the age group of 50 to 80 years, peaking at 64 years. Regionally, the Southeast and South showed the highest prevalence, with a noted correlation between occupational sun exposure and disease incidence.
