Povo de fibra (mundos do trabalho no universo da juta (Baixo Amazonas: 1940...)

Abstract

This research is dedicated to the knowledge of the ways of like and work of the people who got involved with jute, one of the most challenging activities that was installed in the Amazon region. Its basic proposal is to know, through the narratives of these people the way they lived and related to this activity. For a better understanding of this reality, an analysis of the environment in which these subjects work with this product will be made: the floodplain. All this is needed so we will be able to get in touch with the life trajectories of these gentlemen and ladies and we can understand how it work with jute, their life reality in the floodplain and the way in which people in this part of the Amazon build their relationship and understand life and what is beyond life: the sacred. As a result of this proposal, we do not have the intention of issuing concepts about how this type of work was developed, but only seeking, through the narratives presented, to understand their reality.
