Resumo
The breakthrough construction in recent years has benefited the users of the buildings for diversity in building systems technologies. In the city of Manaus the inclusion of builders who came from other regions and made local partnerships, brought new building technologies. However the location of Manaus is a factor that hinders greater access to innovations because of shipping, unskilled labor, taxation and other factors contribute to the final product. Then comes the need to use materials produced in the region that has already been featured in some research with the fibers and seeds. With the idea of sustainable development, other materials have also been highlighted as a waste of low density polyethylene polymer (LDPE) and polypropylene (PP). These materials partial or total replacement to the aggregate in the production of cementitious products to contribute to the reduction of non-renewable materials used for construction. The purpose of this research aimed to analyze the use of LDPE polymer residue collected in the industrial district of Manaus, using replacement terores 50, 70 and 100% of the fine aggregate and even the 15% content of cement replacement by metakaolin in producing a mortar cement slabs. To achieve the overall objective, the thermogravimetry and pycnometer tests for the characterization of waste LDPE and physical, mechanical and morphological studies on the characterization of composites were performed. The results presented in resistance to compression and tension in flexion demonstrated that substitution TP50 content has promising mechanical properties in the cement board production when compared to the parameters of NBR 15498 (ABNT, 2014) and previous studies. For testing the modulus of elasticity and Poisson's ratio, the TP50 results presented according to the production of a mortar joint. The conclusion of the research showed that the use of LDPE polymer residue replacing fine aggregate in the production of cement board has potential and favors the reduction in consumption of non-renewable natural sources.
