Abstract

The city of Parintins (AM) in the flood period is affected by the rising waters, this because they focus on the streets of their neighborhoods. Every year the river water rising rates in the city have been high, acting on transformations in the environment and daily life of the residents families. In this sense, it was proposed to understand the movement of water from the perception of the residents families of the city of Parintins. The research responds to chance: Does the movement of water promotes environmental transformations affecting the lives of the residents families of the city of Parintins? In this direction, in order to analyze the environmental perception of the Parintins city residents families about the dynamics of water movement was conducted a case study in the neighborhood Santa Rita founded on the theoretical approach of the dialectic of systemic complexity. Data collection followed a general outline from: a) Bibliographical Research, b) Pre-test, c) Documentary research, and d) Field Research. The techniques used for data collection in the field research were: 1) Interview, 2) Interview with projective photographic exhibition, 3) Encouraging the drawings, 4) Field diary. Thus, the last three chapters each responds to a specific objective in order to realize the overall objective of the research. Chapter II - City of Parintins: the environmental system in constant transformation identifies the transformations that occurred in the city / neighborhood. Chapter III - Human Adaptability in the neighborhood Santa Rita details the strategies and human adaptability of actions taken by residents families. And Chapter IV - Daily life of neighborhood residents Santa Rita describes the perception of the daily life of the residents families. The study revealed how the waters of movement promotes transformations in a city environmental system, affecting the lives of its residents. Thus, there is a contradictory relationship as human environmental transformations carried out in order to have a place to live come to harm, later, his own way of life. It was perceived as risks and uncertainties are part of the daily lives of the residents, but their social vulnerability influences the difficulty of owning funds to move to another location. This problem results in a daily adapted for life in the area because the residents have in addition to the knowledge gained from experiences in the area also rebuild their experiences of cultures in other contexts, and thus, strategies are materialized.
