Paisagem e lugar: um estudo sobre os Terminais de Integração de Manaus - AM

Abstract

This research has as its main landmark the establishment of the existing relationship between the subjects and the daily production in the Integration Terminals of collective transport in the city of Manaus. For this, we sought to answer the following questions: In which contexts do the Integration Terminals stop being a place of passage and become a Landscape of Fear for users of public transport in Manaus? How has the COVID-19 Pandemic changed the way users produce the Terminals space? and; Do workers at the Integration Terminals conceive of this space in the same way as transport users and/or passers-by? For this, two methodological procedures were thought/organized, the first of which was based on the survey of references that enable the strengthening of the bases for it. The second methodological procedure for the construction of this research was the work/field research with the objective of interviewing and identifying the profiles of the subjects that use the integration terminals of Manaus. For a better understanding of the way users of the terminals perceive the Landscape, it was decided to prioritize students and street workers who have the terminals as a place of passage and waiting to exchange transport, as well as those who use them as a source. income, since these subjects start to have a more routine relationship with spaces. Henceforth phenomenologically based Geography, this research sought to go beyond the researcher's vision, turning to the "look" of the researched subject and his life experience. In this way, it was observed that the different facets and multiple experiences perceived in the terminals make them places of different experiences, whether as a place of passage, a place of work and, which also tend to perceive them as Landscapes or Places of Fear in the city of Manaus. For this reason, it is believed that this research is of great relevance for the planning of future actions in the environment of the Manaus Integration terminals.
