Resumo

The innovation is identified as a requisite for competitiveness and continuity for businesses, however considering existing classifications in literature and in the measurements carried out by organisms such as the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) and the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE), the prioritization of technological innovation as a focus of study and organizational strategy. Given this premise, the aim of the present study was to analyze how the non-technological innovation and technology are perceived in companies of bio business contemplated in a notice of fostering innovation in the State of Amazonas, as well as the perception of its importance, impact and implementation difficulties. The bio business in Amazonas is characterized by innovations less advanced when compared to centers of innovation in other regions or countries, generating less wealth and less value to the products from this State. The non-technological innovation is related to marketing actions and organizational, while the technological relate to innovations in products and processes. To carry out the work have been collected secondary data in bibliographic research about the topic, through wich identified the low academic production on the subject non-technological innovation evidenced greatly when restricting the theme to the segment of bio business. Was performed primary data collection through instrument adapted from Industrial Survey of Technological Innovation (PINTEC), next to the eight companies and their respective key informant. From quanti-qualitative analysis it was found that the influence of the innovations and other strategic indicators: growth in sales, market and cooperation with other institutions, as well as obstacles that comes in the innovation process. It was drawn up a typology of qualitative analysis, in matrix format, which allowed for the classification of the companies analyzed, according to its degree of innovation in both strands, using also the business indicators mentioned above. The results show that the firms studied attach importance to non-technological innovation, but that their strategies are consolidated around the products developed wich may incorporated technological innovations. They also demonstrate some practices that lead to innovation has not been systematized with emphasis on the use of partnerships, collaborative learning, development of internal R&D, innovation and systematic performance in network.
