Perfil farmacoterapêutico de pacientes atendidos após tentativa de autoextermínio com medicamentos notificados no sistema DATATOX do CIT/HUGV

Resumo

This study aims to describe the pharmacotherapeutic profile of patients treated after attempted suicide by medication, registered in the Datatox system of the Toxicology Information Center of the Getúlio Vargas University Hospital (CIT/HUGV), from 2022 to 2024. It is a descriptive, retrospective, and quantitative study, constructed from the analysis of toxicological notifications available in the official database. Variables such as sex, age, and pharmacological classes involved were evaluated. The study highlights the relevance of the irrational use of medications, which frequently contributes to the availability and inadequate access to drugs used in suicide attempts. The results show the predominance of certain sociodemographic and pharmacological profiles. Furthermore, the study reinforces the relevance of notifications to Datatox as an essential tool for epidemiological monitoring and for strengthening health surveillance. It is concluded that the characterization of cases registered at the CIT/HUGV provides a broader view of the phenomenon of intentional drug poisonings, assisting in the formulation of measures aimed at risk reduction, identification of vulnerable populations, and reinforcing the presence of pharmacists to monitor cases.
