Muito além de louças, garrfas e manilhas: arqueologia e História no Igarapé do São Raimundo (Manaus séc. XIX-XX)

Resumo

This work aimed to understand the way of life of part of Manaus society based on the analysis of the material culture identified and collected around the floodplain area close to Igarapé do São Raimundo, located in the capital of the State of Amazonas. The material investigated was collected within the scope of the urban archeology program, developed during the third stage of the Social and Environmental Program of the Manaus Igarapés (PROSAMIM III). All collected artifacts were stored and treated at the Alfredo Mendonça de Souza Laboratory (SEC-AM), which is in custody. The analysis of all the material found in that location opened the way to understanding aspects of the social dynamics of those who lived there, and shed light on evidence of construction structures of housing and factory buildings, public and private. Everyday artifacts, such as crockery, Portuguese and English faience, porcelain from China and England, vitreous material such as bottles of drinks, perfumes and medicines, as well as cattle teeth and fragments of indigenous ceramics provided an overview of the daily dynamics of that nucleus Social
