Resumo
The present work aimed to evaluate hematological and biochemical parameters of sheep fed with tucumã (Astrocaryum aculeatum) bark bran replacing corn. For this, five sheep were used, with an average age of three years and a body weight of 45 kg. These animals were randomly distributed in a 5x5 Latin square design, where a diet consisting of roughage and concentrate was imposed, with proportions of 0%, 5%, 10%, 15% and 20% inclusion of tucumã peel bran. For hematological and biochemical evaluation, blood samples were taken every 12 days, with a collection made before feeding (0 hours) and a collection 4 hours after feeding. Blood analyzes were carried out using automatic equipment and commercial kits for each parameter evaluated. The data obtained were subjected to the PROXID MIXED procedure to verify the linear, quadratic, cubic effect and quadratic deviation and subsequently the means were compared with the reference values of the species. There was a quadratic effect for the mean corpuscular hemoglobin concentration (MCHC) parameter and for glucose, and a linear effect for iron (p < 0.05). In the blood count, leukocytes increased at all levels and lymphocytes at levels 0%, 10% and 20%. In the biochemical profile, cholesterol had increased averages and total proteins had averages below the reference value. No interaction effect was found between inclusion levels and collection location (NxH) for any parameter evaluated. In this sense, it is possible to state that the inclusion of tucumã bark bran up to the inclusion level of 20% in replacement of corn does not alter the hematological and biochemical parameters and meets the nutritional criteria of the sheep.
