Autoritarismo e seus efeitos na política pública de saúde: Brasil e Amazonas em perspectiva (1960-1970)

Abstract

This study aims to describe the Public Health Policy in the years 1960-1970 during the authoritarian state in Manaus - AM: Identifying the mechanisms of inclusion and exclusion of access to public health in Manaus; Check the public health services available in Manaus in the 1960s and 1970s; and Reflect on the commodification and privatization of health in Manaus in the aforementioned decades. Thus, it is necessary to elucidate the historical formation of authoritarianism in Brazil and its relationship with the context of development in the Amazon. In this sense, we can say that it is a historical-documentary research that can be divided into three different moments. The first moment will be a bibliographical research, where a survey and discussion of the main works that explain the characteristics of the military dictatorship and the process of developmentalism and bourgeois autocracy in Brazil will be carried out. The second moment consists of documentary research on the historical moment lived in the Amazon, especially in Manaus in the Amazon. Finally, in the third moment, the collected material will be analyzed, in order to achieve the proposed objectives. So that the study is divided into three chapters to better outline its procedural content, thus, in portraying public health policies in the dynamism of capitalism that entered the Amazon through the diligence of social and political relations, triggering diseases and, therefore, captured the health system opening up the process of commodification of public health. The dictatorial State was part of this process that permeates authoritarianism, and that goes beyond public policy, but in the construction of a government legitimacy.
