Resumo
This dissertation aims to understand the daily work of teachers and the relationship between
mobbing and nursing diagnoses. The research is characterized as a quantitative, qualitative,
exploratory and descriptive study, developed in a Federal University located in northern Brazil,
involving professors from five health areas. For production and data collection, the study was
divided into two phases. In the first phase, an instrument called the Escala Laboral de Assédio Moral
- ELAM - was applied to 47 university professors in order to identify evidence of mobbing in the
participants. The second phase of the research was attended by 20 teachers, in which individual
interviews were conducted contemplating open questions pertinent to the understanding of the
object. With the help of the MAXQDA software, the interviews were analyzed using Laurence
Bardin content analysis, from the perspective of Michel Maffesoli theoretical framework of
comprehensive sociology. The study resulted in three categories: working conditions, humiliation
and prejudice. In work conditions, it was evidenced that the activities performed by teachers involve
an intense work rhythm, with pressure for a high productivity in a short time, causing their physical
and mental exhaustion, which may be related to the growth of the level of education. absenteeism of
these servers. In the humiliation category, it was observed that this phenomenon is more present in
information received in a confusing and inaccurate manner, accompanied by embarrassing criticism,
degrading the teacher's image in the workplace. The prejudice category was evidenced by the fact
that teachers are obliged to perform activities that are not their obligation, and are excluded and / or
ignored due to gender or ideas / opinions about the work of these teachers. Among the categories it
was possible to identify 16 nursing diagnoses related to mobbing, through the defining
characteristics contained in the interviews. It was concluded, in search of understanding of the daily
work of the teachers under study, the difficulties that this worker has when facing situations that
involve mobbing in their work environment. Moreover, it was noted the importance that nursing
diagnoses have in the practice of nurses, making it possible to establish the basis for choosing
nursing interventions, respecting their particularity and completeness.
