Explorações semióticas do PROSAMIM: um estudo ecossistêmico da comunicação a partir da dinâmica da semiose no Parque Residencial Manaus e no Parque Rio Negro

Abstract

This work has as its theme the semiotics explorations of the State of Amazonas Government intervention through the Social and Environmental Program of Igarapés Manaus (PROSAMIM) through an ecosystemic study of communication processes and how they generate semiosis in the Residential Park Manaus and Black River Park. Overall, the PROSAMIM is an urbanization program created in 2003, in Manaus, with public funds and loans from the Inter-American Development Bank. As a government initiative, the program aims to help solve environmental problems, urban and social issues that affect the city of Manaus and its inhabitants, especially those living below the 30m mark flood warning areas, with reference to the level of the Rio Negro. The program’s objective is the removal of the stilts in the banks of river streams of Manaus to build parks and housing projects, constructed in the same place where before there were the stilts housing areas. Our aim in this work is to understand the communicative phenomenon present in PROSAMIM based on the dynamics of semiosis in an ecosystemic approach to communication processes. For this, we seek specifically: (i) to characterize the PROSAMIM in its constitution as an urban memory of the city of Manaus; (ii) to discuss the ecosystemic facet of PROSAMIM in a semiotic perspective and (iii) to demonstrate the dynamics of the relationships involved in a signical PROSAMIM ecosystem through a semiotic breakdown of its space. Our understanding for Communication in this study bases itself on theories of Cultural Semiotics and the epistemology of Communicational Ecosystems. The collected material comes from a field survey conducted in two units of PROSAMIM during the month of February 2016, with the production of photographic records for the corpus of analysis chosen, namely the Residential Park Manaus and Black River Park. For the data collection, a field diary was created, and we established some categories to organize data collection and interpretation of results. Semiotic explorations of Residential Park Manaus and Rio Negro Park were divided into the following categories: (i) in relation to the languages involved; (ii) in relation to the memory of the urbanistic culture, and (iii) in relation to the communicational ecosystem. Through these categories, it was possible to draw three diagrams, particularly in regards to the conformation of the communicational ecosystem in the Black River Park and Parque Residencial Manaus. The results refer to the interpretation of PROSAMIM - in units Rio Negro Park and Parque Residencial Manaus - as communicational ecosystems composed of relations between nature and culture systems in semiotic articulation within these urban projects. In this sense, the research concludes that communication in these spaces do not happen in isolation, but from the intersection between signs systems in the formation of a communicational ecosystem with a semiotics basis.
