Resumo

Entitled “Between Shadows and Bright: the teaching work in the course of Social Service in times of great commodification of the higher education”, the present thesis deals with the implications of the process of expansion of the higher education in the teaching work and, consequently, the graduation of Social Service. It is started from the understanding that the structural crisis of the capital demands a process of productive restructuring to regain the accumulative breath, foundation to the self-maintenance of the capitalist system of production. In times of fetish capital, of production, work and rights relaxation under the touch of the neoliberal project, it is demanded that it is analyzed this process of economic, political and social transformations that increases the counter reform of the State that inflicts, mainly, in the higher education nowadays. The main goal of this study was to analyze the counter reform process in Brazilian Higher Education, with emphasis on the government of Fernando Henrique Cardoso – FHC (1995-2003), Luís Inácio Lula da Silva (2003-2011) and Dilma Vana Rousseff (2011-2014), its implications on the teaching work in the course of Social Service in Amazonas’ Federal University – UFAM. The analysis had as foundation an accurate bibliographical revision, documentary survey and field research performed by the filling of a questionnaire with closed and open questions (APPENDIX A) by 12 (twelve) teachers of the course of Social Service in the Amazonas’ Federal University – UFAM (Head Office – Manaus and Outside Head Office – Parintins), besides of 02 (two) representatives of the Brazilian Association of Teaching and Research of Social Service – ABEPSS that filled 01 questionnaire (APPENDIX B), composed with open questions with the goal of get of these subjects how they learned this process in the courses of Social Service. As a method it is utilized the method that demands the advance of the abstract to the concrete, that is, the construction of a trajectory, which movement grants to cover the concrete, the historic totality, from its most abstract and simple determinations, in direction to forms more complex and concrete about the investigated object. Between the results of research, is it highlighted: the increasing commodification of the higher education, captained by the private sphere, by an educational reengineering promoted in the governments of Fernando Henrique Cardoso (1995-2003), going through Luís Inácio Lula da Silva (2003-2011) and Dilma Vana Rousseff (2011-2014); the implications of the expansion are more visible in the private sphere, but it is also expressed in the public sphere, by the adoption of the Reuni Program, on this account from the discussion about the process of alterations in course that affects the teaching work, it is revealed: the emphasis of the individual work, in the fragile and/or incipient articulation between the duos, work overload, sickening, emphasis in the productivism and in the formation with the speeding of the curriculum and the intensification in the transmission of information instead of guarding with the fundamental assumptions presented in the Curricular Guidelines in the ABEPSS weakening the nuclear contents to the graduation in Social Service. The construction of this study also searched to put in highlight the elements and nuances of this process with views of its overcoming, guarding utopias that anchor the look for a fair society and a critical professional formation, consistent and compromised, after all, it is the utopia that stops the barbarism to control the history (BOFF, 2010)
